Anthym has unveiled its latest product, “Welcome,” designed to enhance the onboarding experience for new employees by fostering personal connections through memories and music preferences. This expands on Anthym’s music-based team bonding concept introduced last year. In this innovative approach, employees craft “JamTracks,” comprising five songs linked to significant life memories, which they then share with their team, deepening interpersonal connections.
The “Welcome” feature includes a ChatGPT-powered tool that generates user manuals for employees. These manuals offer insights into the new hire’s personality, communication style, core values, and potential compatibility with other team members. By incorporating proprietary large language models (LLMs) and insights from Anthym’s scientific advisors, including experts in music cognition and social cognitive neuroscience, the platform provides managers with a comprehensive understanding of their new team member.
Co-founder and COO Jeremy Gocke explained that the idea originated from recognizing the importance of human connection in the workplace, especially as 46% of employees cited working with disengaged colleagues as a reason for leaving their jobs. The founders sought to bridge the gap between work and personal life, leveraging the power of music and memories to create a more human and connected work environment.
Despite the initial novelty of sharing personal memories and favorite songs with colleagues, Anthym believes in the unifying and time-traveling qualities of music. The platform contends that such personal connections, facilitated through shared memories and music, can lead to stronger workplace relationships, increased collaboration, and overall improved efficiency.
“Welcome” addresses the common issue of poor onboarding, which Gallup identifies as a leading cause of voluntary turnover in the initial 90 days of employment. Anthym aims to combat this by offering a solution that enhances employee engagement, reduces turnover risks, and boosts overall morale. The product, officially launched after a successful beta period with 160 workshop clients, is available through annual subscriptions ranging from $1,200 to $6,000.
