Colossa Ventures Raises INR 100 Crore for WomenFirst Fund as First Close
Colossa Ventures, spearheaded by Ashu Suyash and Vandana Rajadhyaksha, has secured INR 100 crore in the first close for its groundbreaking WomenFirst Fund. The initiative aims to invest in startups led or co-founded by women,
prioritizing businesses where women are key beneficiaries. Notable investors include SIDBI, Ranjan Pai’s family office, and Shriram Ownership Trust, among others. With a final target corpus of INR 500 crore, the fund will focus on pre-Series A investments and beyond.
While the fund maintains a sector-agnostic approach, it identifies promising opportunities within healthcare, fintech, climate and clean-tech, deeptech, and consumer brands. Ashu Suyash, Founder and CEO of Colossa Ventures,
expressed, “Colossa’s mission is to unlock the great potential of India’s trillion-dollar women economy, which is currently underinvested in and underestimated.” The fund aims to empower women entrepreneurs through Colossa’s proprietary 3C framework: capital, capability, and confidence.
Both Suyash and Rajadhyaksha bring extensive experience in finance from prestigious companies. Vandana Rajadhyaksha remarked, “Women are poised to lead the next phase of India’s economic growth.
