Google.org Unveils $20M Generative AI Accelerator Program

Google.org, the philanthropic arm of Google, announces its latest initiative to support nonprofits harnessing the power of generative AI technology. 

With a commitment of $20 million in grants, the program aims to empower organizations leveraging AI for social impact.

The newly unveiled initiative, named Google.org Accelerator: Generative AI, will kickstart with 21 selected nonprofits. Notable participants include Quill.

org and the World Bank, each pursuing innovative AI-driven solutions in education and development research, respectively.

Participating nonprofits will benefit from comprehensive support during the six-month accelerator program. This includes financial grants, technical training, workshops, mentorship, 

and guidance from designated AI coaches. Additionally, select organizations will receive direct assistance from Google employees through the fellowship program.

Tarjimly, Benefits Data Trust, and mRelief are among the nonprofits receiving specialized support. Tarjimly seeks to utilize AI for language translation to aid refugees, 

while Benefits Data Trust aims to enhance caseworker support with AI assistants for public benefit enrollment. Meanwhile, mRelief focuses on streamlining the SNAP benefits application process in the U.S.
