ConveGenius Secures $7M Funding for SwiftChat AI Expansion

Edtech startup ConveGenius has successfully raised $7 million (Rs 58 crore) in a growth financing round led by UBS Optimus Foundation and Mount Judi Ventures, with continued support from existing backers, including the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation (MSDF), BAce Capital, Heritas Capital, and Gray Matters Capital. This strategic funding is part of a broader initiative to bolster the generative AI capabilities of SwiftChat, ConveGenius’s conversational AI platform, and facilitate its expansion into international markets.

A growth financing round, aimed at scaling and expanding the startup post-initial funding rounds, underscores ConveGenius’s commitment to advancing SwiftChat’s capabilities. The Noida-based company’s SwiftChat platform aims to democratize knowledge and information access by empowering the creation, deployment, and management of omnichannel bots. The funds raised will propel SwiftChat’s outreach, targeting an ambitious goal of reaching 200 million users.

Dhun Davar, Head of Social Finance at UBS Optimus Foundation, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “…We are delighted to partner with ConveGenius, as their SwiftChat generative AI platform provides the personalized learning content and teacher training support needed in schools.”

Founded in 2013 by Jairaj Bhattacharya and Shashank Pandey, ConveGenius positions itself as an AI-first edtech company dedicated to transforming global learning experiences. SwiftChat’s conversational AI bot store boasts a vast reach with 143 million registered user profiles and adoption in over 577,000 schools across India.

The startup claims significant impact, with Swift School’s personalized adaptive learning platform implemented in over 25,000 schools across 16 states in India, benefiting more than 4 million students. Additionally, Swift Insights, ConveGenius’s assessments and data intelligence platform, has measured learning outcomes for 7 million students across 20 states in India and four other countries.

Ali Shariff, Partner at Mount Judi Ventures, acknowledged ConveGenius’s transformative role in public education, stating, “It is successfully transforming public education systems, one of the toughest frontiers in the K-12 space.”

Prior to this $7 million funding, ConveGenius had secured $5 million in 2021 from investors BAce Capital, Heritas Capital, and 3Lines Venture Capital, with participation from MSDF. The total funding raised by ConveGenius now stands at $9.09 million across more than eight rounds, according to market intelligence platform Tracxn.
