Tech giant Microsoft and Generative AI startup Sarvam AI have joined forces to integrate Sarvam AI’s Indic voice Large Language Model (LLM) into the Azure platform. This collaboration signifies a significant stride in making advanced AI accessible and impactful across India.
The partnership focuses on leveraging Azure AI and Azure Infrastructure to enhance Sarvam AI’s capabilities in building and deploying their voice LLM stack. Sarvam AI specializes in developing Gen AI models tailored for Indic languages and contexts, aiming to streamline the development and deployment of Gen AI applications in India.
Initially available in Hindi, Sarvam AI’s Indic voice LLM is set to expand its coverage to encompass more Indian languages. Puneet Chandok, President of Microsoft India and South Asia, expressed Microsoft’s commitment to democratizing AI and fostering innovation. He emphasized the collaboration’s role in empowering India’s AI transformation, ensuring inclusivity across language barriers.
By harnessing Microsoft’s cloud and AI infrastructure, Sarvam AI aims to accelerate the training, hosting, and scaling of its LLMs efficiently. Moreover, the collaboration extends to enhancing support for Indian languages in Microsoft’s Generative AI models, facilitating widespread adoption of AI solutions in enterprises.
Pratyush Kumar, Co-founder of Sarvam AI, echoed the excitement surrounding the collaboration, emphasizing the shared goal of democratizing AI technology in India. This partnership follows Sarvam AI’s recent achievement of raising $41 million in a Series A funding round, highlighting investor confidence in its mission to develop comprehensive solutions for Generative AI.
Co-founded by Kumar and Vivek Raghavan, Sarvam AI focuses on building a “full-stack” for Generative AI, integrating research-led innovations with enterprise-grade platforms for AI model training and deployment.
