Spotify’s latest personalized playlist, daylist, evolves with you throughout the day

Spotify is expanding its collection of personalized playlists with its latest addition: daylist. This dynamic playlist evolves alongside your daily moods, joining the ranks of Discovery Weekly, On Repeat, genre mixes, and other customized playlists. Spotify aims to provide you with a continuously refreshed playlist that caters to “every version of you.”

Throughout the day, daylist undergoes multiple updates, offering new tracks and titles that align with your daily activities, based on your historical interactions with the Spotify app. For instance, if you tend to listen to cheerful and energetic music during your morning routine, daylist might suggest titles like “bedroom pop banger early morning,” as seen in Spotify’s example playlist.

Daylist may feature playful subtitles like “windows down thrillwave Thursday evening” or “happy dance energy Friday morning,” each time it updates, you’ll receive fresh tracks and a new title.

This feature builds upon Spotify’s understanding of music metadata, which enabled the launch of Niche Mixes earlier this year. With Niche Mixes, users could input any activity, mood, or aesthetic to receive a personalized playlist. Now, Spotify connects these “vibes” with your actual usage patterns to create a comprehensive playlist that reflects your music preferences throughout the day.

Spotify confirms that the daylist playlist updates frequently, curating the “niche music and microgenres” you typically enjoy at specific times of the day and week.

Additionally, the visuals of your daylist change throughout the day to match your mood, transitioning from a sunny yellow on a blue background in the morning to sunset hues in the evening, moonglow at night, and finally a darker black for late-night listening.

The new playlist also includes built-in sharing features designed for social media, offering a screenshot, personalized sticker, or customizable share card.

You can save your daylist to your Library for convenient access. To find your daylist, you can search for the term on Spotify or visit spotify.com/daylist directly.

Daylist is available to both free and Premium users in English-speaking markets, including the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland. The availability will expand to more users worldwide in the coming months.
