Bengaluru-based food and beverage powerhouse, VRO Hospitality, has just clinched a staggering $10 million in a bridge round, signaling a resounding vote of confidence from key players in the financial and investment sectors. The funding, a strategic blend of equity and debt, was spearheaded by Axis Bank, with major contributions from Gruhas backed by Nikhil Kamath and UC Inclusive Credit. Notable participants include NB Ventures, Kunal Shah of Cred, and popular actress Mouni Roy.

With a robust portfolio boasting 40 upscale outlets spanning across Bengaluru, Mumbai, Goa, Kochi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Ooty, VRO Hospitality has carved its niche in the culinary landscape. Iconic brands under its umbrella include Badmaash, Mirage, Plan B, Taki Taki, Los Cavos, Cafe Noir, One Night in Bangkok, Tycoons, Hangover, and Nevermind. The company also operates successful cloud kitchens like Burgers and Beyond, Holy Doh Pizzas, Smashed, and Whacky Chang.

The $10 million infusion is earmarked for an ambitious expansion plan, propelling VRO Hospitality into new territories and solidifying its standing as a disruptor in the dining industry. The funds will fuel nationwide growth, operational enhancements, and an accelerated product development strategy.

Abhijeet Pai, Co-founder of Gruhas Proptech, emphasized the post-COVID surge in the hospitality sector, asserting that VRO Hospitality’s successful bridge round positions it for exponential growth and a reinforced market presence.

VRO Hospitality, founded in May 2018 by Dawn Thomas, Safdhar Adoor, and restaurateur Sharath Rice, is not just limiting its expansion drive within India. The company is eyeing international forays, with flagship brands such as Badmaash, Cafe Noir, and Taki Taki spearheading the charge into new global markets.
